There are a lot of Anaheim hotels near Disneyland to choose from. Some are only a minute walk until you’re on Disneyland property.

Hotels that offer free breakfast that fills you up are the only hotels that we have will even consider. After a lot of research, I have found what, I believe, are the top five hotels near Disneyland and Disney California Adventure that offer a great free breakfast.

I have picked the top hotels at different distances from Disneyland.

For example, Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn has the best breakfast, per reviews, of hotels right across the street from Disneyland.

The other hotels are a little further. Hopefully, the variety in distance will provide variety in price. I want to help you find a cheap hotel near Disneyland with free breakfast.

A good free breakfast can save you from spending money and time at a restaurant and from paying higher prices in the park. It is nice to have a hearty breakfast for many hours of walking you’ll likely do at the parks.

I’ll explain my reasoning in more detail, but, first, here is my list of the 5 best hotels near Disneyland with free breakfast:

Free Breakfast Hotels Near Disneyland

Best Western PLUS Anaheim Inn

I chose Best Western PLUS Anaheim Inn because it is across the street from the walkway that leads to the front gates of Disneyland. It has a brand new breakfast room that includes a balcony that overlooks Disneyland. Reviews indicate that the breakfast is way above average, and has a variety that regularly changes. It has a lot of options.

Some say that this Best Western is closer to the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure gates than some of the Disneyland hotels, and it is much cheaper!

Reviews indicate that the hotel might feel a little dated, is not overly decorated with a Disney theme, and might get a little noisy as families head to Disneyland. Incredibly, it has free parking, which is another money saver. The breakfast balcony can serve as a viewing deck for the fireworks of Disneyland. If you’re lucky you can view the fireworks from your hotel room.

Additionally, the inn lists a 24-hr check-in, baggage storage, a pool, and baggage storage. Baggage storage is helpful if you check-out early, but want to go to Disneyland and then head to the airport or your next hotel in the evening.

Hyatt House at the Anaheim Convention Center

Just down the street from the Best Western PLUS Anaheim Inn is the Hyatt House at the Anaheim Convention Center. It is on the corner of W Katella Ave and S Harbor Blvd. It is about an 8 minute walk to the S Harbor Blvd pickup/dropoff location for Disneyland, not including waiting at lights. It is an easy walk.

If you would prefer, you could walk a little south to the Toy Story parking lot and take their free shuttle to Disneyland. It is less walking overall to go to the Toy Story Lot, but it might take more time. I understand that you might feel that you do enough walking at Disneyland on a normal day, so it might be worth it to use the Toy Story Lot Shuttle.

The breakfast is described as above average, hot, and delicious. Reviews for other hotels nearby referenced this hotel as having a higher quality breakfast.

On the bottom level of the hotel is Walgreens, Starbucks, and Blaze Pizza, so in addition to being close to Disneyland it is close to places to get coffee, pizza, and a lot of other supplies. A CVS is across the street. The hotel itself has the H Bar, which seems to be a good place to watch sporting events.

The rooms are listed as having kitchenettes. Their rooftop pool is heated, and grills are available for guest use. Their pool, workout room, and business center seem to be a good size.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center

Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center is a long name, and, as you would guess, it is close to Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center. It is only a few hotels down from the Hyatt House.

This is the only hotel of the five I have actually stayed in myself. I enjoyed my experience at this hotel.

I would recommend using the Toy Story Lot to get to/from Disneyland if staying at this hotel. Basically, the Homewood Suites has a free shuttle and breakfast–the free shuttle being the Toy Story Lot shuttle.

The hotel is right next door to the Toy Story Parking Lot, and it seems that the parking attendants and Disneyland staff don’t have a problem with nearby hotel guests using the parking lot shuttle.

I feel like the Toy Story Lot shuttles are larger and more spacious than the ART buses, and you don’t have to worry about it being full or people cramming in on top of you.

Breakfast is good quality, not amazing, but it does have the occasional Mexican food dish. I remember enchiladas one day. There is a good variety, which includes staple hot items like some type of egg and meat. I remember delicious fresh fruit, as well!

Often, Homewood Suites will serve a light dinner Monday through Thursday. It is described as an evening social, small plate. It can be hearty, but there is generally one option for the hearty part of the meal. If you’re picky, it might be risky to plan on it. If you’re not, then it could save you a lot of money.

My experience and other reviews indicate decent soundproofing, which is nice when you have little kids. Rooms include a dining area. The hotel offers a small putting green/mini-golf area, a basketball hoop, outdoor pool, a fire pit, hot tub, baby/toddler pool, grills, game room, fitness center, and electric vehicle charging.

Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Resort

Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Resort is a newer hotel. When I last looked at the lot on Google Maps it showed a construction site. Cambria is located to the southeast of Disneyland. It is about a 0.9-mile walk to the S. Harbor Blvd drop off area.

You could use ART, Anaheim Resort Transportation to get to Disneyland. In my experience, you’ll want to make sure that your hotel is one of the first stops, or it might be full before it gets to you. Additionally, it can be slower during peak times. An Uber/Lyft type of service would be a few dollars more, but it would likely be a better option. Though, the drop off/pickup area becomes congested during peak times.

Since the hotel is newer, there weren’t a ton of reviews for the breakfast. However, all of the reviews that I saw were positive. The described the breakfast as having a lot of options and being able to handle a large crowd. I think it is always helpful to remember it is a free breakfast.

The main reason I have added this hotel to the list, as that the hotel seems to almost be a destination in and of itself. It has a free water park with water slides, a restaurant, a movie wall, a putting green, other on-site eateries, two showers, and their mirrors can be accessed with Bluetooth to play music while you’re in the bathroom.

Additionally, there is valet parking, room service, and a fitness center. The reviews repeated mentioned Larry, who I believe is a very helpful valet. They make Larry out to be an awesome guy. Hopefully, he still works there!

Ayers Hotel Anaheim

The Ayers Hotel Anaheim is not exceptionally close to Disneyland. However, it only takes about an 8-minute drive to travel between the two locations. Additionally, it is located right next to the Honda Center and the Angels Stadium.

The breakfast is described as excellent to above average. One review even mentioned to-go breakfast bags being available. Photos seem to show a decent size breakfast seating area. Some critiqued the limited non-dairy options. Generally, breakfast options were good.

I mostly picked this hotel because the breakfast reviews were so positive, it has an interesting location next to sports stadiums, and it might be an interesting option for someone willing to take an Uber or Lyft to get to Disneyland.

Ayers has a pool, business center, fitness center, available inter-connected rooms, and on-demand movies.

This hotel is 0.3 miles away from the main entrance to Disneyland and California Adventure, which means you can get to the parks in 5 minutes or less by foot! The prices vary from $281 to $369, depending on the day, day of the week, and time of the year.

The rooms at this hotel are spacious and comfortable and there’s a complimentary breakfast offered.

If you want to be as close to the action as possible, this is the place for you.

🏨 Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites

The Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites is another great option if you’re looking for a hotel close to Disneyland.

This hotel is just 0.3 miles from the park’s main entrance, so it’s only a six-minute walk away.

If you want to be close to Disneyland but don’t want to pay the higher prices of some of the other hotels, this is a great option. They have some very large suites that are great for larger families – for a very affordable price. The prices range from $169 to $400, depending on the day, day of the week, and time of the year.

We stayed here recently, and it was pretty bare-bones. The walls were thin, and the free “breakfast” left much to be desired. The beds were pretty thin, too. However, it was clean and, most of all, super, super close to Disneyland.

🏨 Park Vue Inn

The Park Vue Inn is another great option for those looking for an affordable hotel close to Disneyland.

This hotel is 0.3 miles from the main entrance of the park, so it’s only a 5-minute walk away. The prices range from $279 to $349, depending on the day, day of the week, and time of the year.

If you want to be close to Disneyland but don’t want to spend a lot of money, this is the place for you.

If you are looking for anything from a fully-equipped kitchen to a view of the park, the Tropicana Inn and Suites has something for everyone.

This list isn’t all-inclusive of every hotel that might have a bunk bed, but it should provide you with some good options for getting started.

This post is focusing on bunk beds, but we will also provide details on if there is free parking, a swimming pool, complimentary breakfast, and if it is within walking distance of Disneyland or the Downtown Disney District.

It is also close to the Honda Center which is about two miles from the hotel. They offer a variety of room accommodations including Kings, Queens, and Bunk Beds.

3 | Desert Palms Hotel & Suites

This hotel is family-friendly and offers a variety of suite options including Kid Suites and Kitchen Suites. Pick between a Studio Suite with or without bunk beds, King or Queen sized beds. They have an amazing fitness center, free wifi and much more!

Free Parking: Hotel Has On-Site Accessible Self-Parking

Distance from the Park: It is approximately .7 miles from the park, less than a ten-minute walk away

Pool: Yes!

4 | Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel and Water Playground

The Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim is a fun place to stay because of its unique water playground – Castaway Cove. This hotel is located right across the street from Disneyland. They have larger-than-average rooms that are perfect for families. I have heard rave reviews about the HoJo from various people!

They have a few options with bunk beds:

• Queen Room with a Junior Bunk – their website says that junior bunk is ideal for children five and under
• Kid’s Suite – great for families of five with children. This room has 1 king bed, twin bunk beds, and a twin sofa sleeper
• Queen/Bunk ADA – This is similar to the Queen Room with a junior bunk, but instead has a twin bunk. Both the twin and queen bed are ADA accessible.

All of the rooms are bright, colorful, and perfect for unwinding after a day at the park. The water playground is a blast and a great place to go when you are taking a break!

Free Parking: No – guests are allowed one car per room at a $20/night fee

Complimentary Breakfast: Nope – they do have an on-site Mimi’s Cafe as well as The Main Street Market, which has breakfast items for purchase.

Distance from Park: 8-minute walk from Disneyland’s Main Entrance

Swimming Pool: Yes! They have a great waterpark that is perfect for the family with water slides and water play structures, and they also have a separate, secluded pool perfect for lounging and swimming in.

5 | Anaheim Islander Inn & Suites

This is a basic hotel that is a great place to stay if you want to be able to walk over to Disneyland. They have a room that perfect for families because they come with bunk beds. They are spacious suites that you will love!

If you are looking for bunk beds, you will want to book the Kids’ Room with Two Queen Beds and a set of twin bunk beds. The room looks a little bit dated, but all of the reviews I’ve read were very positive. It sounds like it’s a quiet hotel with good amenities.

It also seems to be less expensive than many hotels that are near Disneyland.

This is not available through Get Away Today.

Free Parking: Yes!

Complimentary Breakfast: It says they have a complimentary breakfast – it sounds like it’s just coffee and pastries. Better than nothing!

Distance from Park: .8 miles away. Google Maps shows this as a 16-minute walk. Most of the reviewers felt it was an easy walk

Swimming Pool: Yes! They have a nice, outdoor pool.

6 | Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort /Convention Center

The last resort on our list is the Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center. It’s a relatively new hotel that’s about 1 mile away from Disneyland and has a few room options for families with children.

There is one King bed and one Queen bed in this room which gives you a bit more flexibility than some of the other options on our list.

Free Parking: No, you can pay roughly $24 a day for parking at their facility

Complimentary Breakfast: Yes! They have a complimentary hot breakfast available

Distance from park: Roughly four blocks away

Swimming Pool: Yes!

7 | Stanford Inn & Suites Anaheim

This is another hotel located about 1 mile away from Disneyland (like most of the others on our list) and also has one room type that features bunk beds. They also offer ART Transportation, car charging stations, fitness room, onsite laundry, and more!

The Stanford Inn & Suites Anaheim features 2 Queen beds, 1 bunk bed with twins over a full-sized bunk bed, as well as a fold-out sofa sleeper in the living room.

Free Parking: They do have complimentary vehicle charging stations

Complimentary Breakfast: No

Distance from the Park: Approximately 2 miles from the park

Swimming Pool: Yes, a pool and jacuzzi!

8 | Homewood Suites by Anaheim by Hilton Anaheim Resort Convention Center Area

This hotel is also located over a mile away from Disneyland, but it’s pretty close to the Convention Center. This is a non-smoking, no pet facility but they offer free Wi-fi, a meeting room, and a business center among some of their amenities.

The room options available here with bunk beds consist of 1 King bed + 2 twin-size beds (one in each bedroom) or just a King bed.

9 | Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort

This hotel is located about 1.5 miles away from Disneyland and offers two room types with a bunk bed available. The first one consists of just 1 King bed + 2 sofa beds in the living room, while the second room type features just 1 King bed + 2 twin-size beds (one in each bedroom).

Distance from the Park: About 2 miles away with the option of ART for a minimal fee

10 | The Hyatt House Anaheim

This hotel is about half a mile from Disneyland and about one mile from Downtown Disney. As of October 21, they have limited services for foodservice, Fitness center, Pool, Housekeeping, and Shuttle Service.

12 I Element by Westin Anaheim Resort Convention Center

This hotel is mere steps away from Disneyland Park. It is a brand new factify that offers a sofa sleeper, kitchenette, and spa-like bathroom in all guestrooms and includes offers such as free WiFi, a 24-hour fitness center, and more! They take pride in their Covid-19 cleaning procedures. They have a variety of rooms including theme park views, Kid Suites, and more- with bunk beds! This is also a smoke-free facility.

Distance from the Park: It is roughly .6 miles from the park

Complimentary Breakfast: Yes, a breakfast buffet with healthy options is available

Pool: Yes, a heated pool with complimentary use of towels

13 I Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance & Waterpark Resort

If you want to be close to the Parks then this might be the hotel for you! This is a family-friendly hotel with a ton of amenities.

Disneyland Area Hotel Review

When I was planning our trip for Disneyland last year, I took forever to decide on what hotel we should stay at.

I ended up writing this post about the best hotels near Disneyland with family suites  with all my “research”, because, you know, I’m sure someone would find it useful.

In the end, we stayed at the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort/Garden Grove. Because I always think it’s helpful to read reviews before getting a hotel, I thought I would write one anyway.

I apologize for the lack of pictures – I realized the only one I took was of a slept in bed. Oops! Good thing they have some great photos on their website, and the Trip Advisor page 🙂

Residence Inn Anaheim Resort/Garden Grove

Overview

Just as a basic overview, here are some of the stats about the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort/Garden Grove:

• Located 1.5 miles away from Disneyland. This is a bit far – but honestly, if you aren’t going to be staying SUPER close to the park and you have to drive/ride a shuttle anyways…I don’t think there’s a big difference.
• Features guest suites that can sleep 2 to 8 people, which is great for families.
• HUGE breakfast – this was definitely the best part of our stay. I was VERY impressed with the free breakfast.
• Large Pool with Kiddie Pool and Hot Tub
• High Speed Internet included (though I feel like it would be weird if hotels didn’t include this nowadays).
• Fully equipped kitchens
• Fun kids area with movies near the breakfast area

Room

The room we stayed in had two queen beds with a bathroom area and then a door separating that room from an area with a couch that turned into a bed, a dining table, and a kitchen.

Because we had four adults and two kids staying in the same room, we felt that getting a suite was ideal – and it ended up being a good option.

The room was pretty spacious. The table was large enough for all of us to sit at, and the kitchen – although small – had everything we needed to cook with. We did have to buy basic spices and what not, but it wasn’t a big deal. It has a fridge, oven, stove top, microwave, and dishwasher.

The bathroom was a pretty standard size, and it was pretty clean. I did find a little bit of mildew in the shower, which always grosses me out. But for the most part, I had no complaints. I like that there were sinks outside of the bathroom, which makes it easier for people to get ready while others are showering.

The actual beds were very comfortable. I believe they were two queens, and they were in a separate area that could be closed off with a door from the living area and kitchen.

Now for the downside – the couch bed. When we pulled it out, I could barely believe my eyes. I mean, I’m realistic. Sofa coaches are rarely five star bedding. However, they should at least have a mattress that is thicker than a pancake! It was literally the thinnest mattress I had ever seen.

And it was SO uncomfortable. I could feel the springs, and it was miserable the first night. I complained the next morning, and the staff was very apologetic. They assured me that they were going to figure something out. Later the next day, they came up and said they couldn’t find a mattress to swap out, but they kept looking. Eventually they came back with at memory foam mattress topper, and THAT was comfortable. I slept so well afterward, and when we left, I even said it was more comfortable than my bed at home.

But that initial mattress was brutal 😉

Breakfast

If you know me, I love a good hotel breakfast when it’s included with the cost of the room. It’s just so nice when you are able to go downstairs and eat breakfast without worrying about finding an inexpensive place to eat – especially when you are at a place like Disneyland where time is money!

I read good reviews about the breakfast, and it certainly did not disappoint. I think it was probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at a hotel – there were so many options, and they varied from morning to morning.

They had the typical continental breakfast fare – fruits, cold cereals, oatmeal, and baked goods. However, they had a wide array of other options such as breakfast burritos, breakfast hashes, parfaits, individual waffles, tons of toppings for the waffles….one morning they even had tamales!

I really was impressed with it though, and it is one of the big reasons I recommend this hotel. Like I said, a good hotel breakfast goes a long way with me!

They have plenty of seating, but it can get really busy in the morning. I recommend coming earlier in the morning or more toward the end of breakfast when most people have already headed to the parks.

Amenities

The Residence Inn was very comfortable and offer some great amenities to make everything seem more like vacation.

Of course, they have the excellent breakfast, but they also offer an exercise room, a large pool area with a kiddie pool, snacks in the foyer, a small convenience store, as well as a BBQ area. We also really enjoyed the ping pong table and the tennis/basketball courts.

They have some great outdoor seating which is nice during breakfast or just to relax during the day.

Staff

The staff was SO friendly. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, they were always greeting us with smiles and doing their best to help us.

With the issue regarding the horrible couch bed, they were very accommodating and really tried to help as much as we could.

On the first night, they sent up a gift basket with some treats welcoming us to the hotel. I don’t know if they do that for everyone (I would assume so?), but it was a really nice gesture. I don’t have any complaints about anyone who worked there, so that definitely puts them up there in my book.

Elevators

This was probably the most annoying part of our stay – the elevators were soooo slow…and on top of that, for the majority of our trip, one of them was broken. So the entire hotel was supposed to use one elevator. They did allow you to use the utility elevator, which helped. But I feel like for a hotel of this size, they should have more elevators. I would opt to just take the stairs, but the stairs led to outside and not to the actual interior of the hotel, which was kind of weird.

Transportation 

You do have to pay for parking at night, but if you book this hotel through Get Away Today, you will likely get that parking fee waived, which is great. I would double check that first before you book. Don’t forget to use the code MFTG if you book through Get Away Today any two night or longer stay (two ticket minimum) so you can get an additional $10 off.

They do not have a free shuttle to Disneyland, though I think these can be hard to come by. They are close by to a stop for the Anaheim Resort Transit, which is a pretty good option if you don’t want to drive to the park (which is about $20 per day for parking). If you get your passes through Get Away Today, they have a promotion that gives you 2 days free and kids for free, which is great!

Places Nearby

There are quite a few restaurants and stores within walking distance which was really nice. I believe there was a Target super close where we bought a few things we had forgotten, as well as food for the hotel.

We enjoyed the little Dollar (or so) store that was nearby. We got some $1 sunglasses which proved to be really helpful. There was a Mexican restaurant we went to nearby that was recommended by one of the staff members at the hotel, and we loved it. The portions were good, the food was authentic, and the service was excellent. Beyond that, they had a lot of other restaurants really close by which was nice.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort/Garden Grove. I think next time we’d like to stay within walking distance to the park, but for the most part, I think it’s a high-quality hotel with some great features for families.

Disneyland Resort hotels can be some of the most memorable experiences whether you are traveling with friends, traveling with family, or on a romantic getaway.

There are even more options a little further from the park. Most of the hotels will offer either free transportation or transportation for a small fee to Disneyland Resort.
