Disney Family Game Nights & Themed Games

Family togetherness is huge in today’s world. But for the times you can’t travel to the Disney parks together, there are Disney family game nights.

If your family is anything like mine, they love playing games together. My family particularly enjoys playing Disney-themed games. Whether it’s card games, board games, or trivia, let’s take a look at some of the many different options for your next family game night.

Card Games

Card games can vary in level of difficulty, depending on the type of game. There is a card game called “Eye Found It,” similar to an “I Spy” type of game, that is perfect for the little ones to join in, as it is suitable for ages 2+.

There are more family oriented card games that everyone can play like Disney Codenames and Apples to Apples Disney Edition. These games do take a little more skill and thought, but easily allow for players to play on a team so that the little ones can feel included.

There are many other choices when it comes to Disney-themed card games, but my family’s favorite is actually a card game/board game hybrid called Villainous, along with it’s expansion packs. I do have to warn you, it is not a game for the faint of heart. It can be very confusing and it took us quite a few times to get the hang of it before it really became enjoyable. This being said, it is much more suitable for teens and adults because of the complexity of the game. But it is a staple at family game night and we love playing all of the different characters and trying to accomplish their objectives.

This game can be found in stores like Target or Walmart, but can easily be ordered on Amazon with the link provided above.

Board Games

Because Disney is so popular, many board games have been themed after Disney characters or the Disney parks. There is Disney Parks Candyland Theme Park Edition Game, Disney Jungle Cruise Adventure Game, Marvel Spider-Man Web Warriors Chutes & Ladders Game. And these are only a few of the many, many Disney-themed board games there are.

One of the most classic games, that happens to be my family’s favorite is Disney Monopoly. This is yet another game that can be played in teams for the little ones, and is a really fun time for the rest of the family.

Over the years, many of the games have been slightly changed or upgraded for even more magic and even more fun.

Trivia

When it comes to trivia games, you have to have a certain level of Disney movie, character, or theme park knowledge in order to play immediately. However, after playing any trivia game a few times, you start picking up on the little fun facts that you can share with your family and friends.

There are older games like Disney Trivia Board Game and Disney Scene it that can be harder to find, but there are newer trivia games like Geek Out: Disney Board Game for the Disney Fan of all ages.

Trivia games can also be found online if you search for Disney Trivia, but they may be harder to play in a large group. However, you could use facts and questions that you find online and make your own game with your own rules.

Disney game nights are the perfect way to bring your family together for a little bit of magic and a lot of fun. And if traditional games are not as interesting to you, feel free to make up your own game together with a little imagination. As Walt Disney said, “Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.”
